Road safety for teens
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), teenage drivers have the highest crush risk in the USA, as compared to those drivers over age twenty. According to these reports, teenagers have 4 times more risk of getting involved in a road crush as compared to their adult counterparts. With over 39 % of deaths in kids aged between 16 and 19 being car accident related, it has turned into one of the graves dangers facing the American teenager. It is therefore, the responsibility of the parents to instill good road practices in their teens to ensure their safety on the road. In fact, according to Brad Eggleston, the vice president of AutoVantage, a leading car care and travel assistance group, it is important for parents to think safety fast before they allow their teens behind the wheel.
Some of the possible safety measures set for parents to help teens keep safe on the road include:
1. Training It is recommended that teenagers receive between 25 and 50 hours parental driving lessons before they are allowed to drive on their own. Some of the things parents should include in their lessons include: parking, multiple lanes, weather conditions, safety hazards and day-to-day on the road conflicts and how to handle them.
2. Limit the number of friends allowed in the car when they drive
3. Wearing your seatbelts It is generally advised that parents always buckle up as an example for their teenage drivers. This is because it is evident that most teen accident fatalities happen unrestricted.
4. Keeping cell phones away According to the IIHS, most accidents occur due to driving while talking on the phone. This should be discouraged at all costs for the safety of your teenager on the road.
5. Persistence Parents are also encouraged to continually ride with their teens even after their licenses are granted to keep them on track, among other reasonable monitoring and training measures.

Auto Safety 101: Need to Know Info
With the ever increasing challenges on the roads there is need for drivers to observe some expert guidelines to ensure safe rides. Some of the most notable ones include:
1. Car maintenance It is always advisable for drivers to drive only the best vehicles on the road. These cars are generally breakdown hardy, which reduces the road expenses as well as the unnecessary inconveniences caused by car breakdowns. However, when the inevitable happens on the road, it is always advisable for you to pull over in a well lit location off the road, with emergency flares or reflectors placed behind your car to help other drivers see you to avoid accidents.
2. Preventing car theft With the car theft figures in the United States indicating at least one stolen vehicle every twenty five minutes, it is paramount that car owners and drivers keep the safety of their cars a big priority. To this end, some of the proven and tested ways to keep off car thieves include: a. Always parking in well lit locations that are not secluded.
a. Parking your car in a place with people
b. Applying the use of antitheft tools like the Club Automotive Security Series whose line includes steering-wheel locks, padlocks, cable and spare-tire locks and specialty locks. The cable and spare-tire locks normally protect tires that are mounted on the back of trucks, luggage or other items and run six feet long. The Padlock can be used on gates, sheds and to secure garages, whereas the steering-wheel locks help render the vehicles unusable when attached and so on.
4. Survival kits It is also advisable for one to always carry their survival kits on trips. This should include flares, jumper cables, radiator fluid, a first-aid kit, a blanket, bottled water and a road atlas. It is also considered prudent that you carry an extra phone for emergencies on the road.
4. Packing a safety kit This is by far one of the most important things to pack for a long road trip. Some of the most important things to pack for this kit include flares, a quart of oil, jumper cables, radiator fluid, bottled water, first-aid kit, a blanket and a road atlas of course. It’s also smart for one to carry a cell phone on the road as well.

Can Defensive Drivers Make The World A Safer Place?
You’ll find many bad drivers out on the highways, and they cause many accidents. The principal difficulty with this, is the vast majority of people hurt usually are not the ones causing the car wrecks. Although it isn’t what you would like to do, you have to be a defensive driver any time you put your key into the ignition of your car. Actually, we went back and forth about what would be best to discuss on the topic of dodge extended auto warranty. You can learn more about dodge extended warranty at their website.
So what we did was try to break things up as well as possible, and we have written other articles about this.
Just be sure to enhance what you already have discovered in this article because that is just the smart thing to do.
Never think that something like this, learning more, is not important or does not matter because it does. Once you do that, then you will be more confident about your choices. The smart move to make is to remain cautious keeping an eye on your fellow drivers and predicting how they may react.
Many techniques are available to help you be able to handle whatever happens when you’re at the wheel of your car. The very best action to take is to be observant. When driving a car, it isn’t time to be talking on the phone, or actually talking to someone in the backseat, or even sightseeing. People today normally drive so that they can go from one place to another and arrive with everyone and everything in one piece. At any time that you must deal with a distraction whether it’s speaking to other people in the car, talking on the phone, turning on the radio, or checking your makeup in the mirror, you’re increasing your chances of having an accident.
Even if chatting on a mobile phone while driving is forbidden in many places around the world, that has not stopped people from doing so. Using one hand to drive and the other hand to hold a cell phone can be precarious as talking with someone can be very distracting. Before you are aware of it, you’re going to be so caught up in your communication that you will be totally unaware of driving conditions. If you experience the need to swerve to bypass something, you possibly will not even be able to react if your concentration is not there. You never know when an unpredicted obstacle will get in your way, so it is essential to stay alert.
Remaining attentive is important, especially when it comes to junk in the road, or even potholes. Virtually all roadways are generally safe for driving but there’s always the possibility that something can fall onto the road from passing vehicles or that rock may come loose from surrounding cliffs. Factors like this make accidents possible whenever you least expect them. Should the driver inadvertently comes across something in the road when he is actually driving at normal speed, his car will experience some damage even if it is relatively minor. But it could be more than enough to bring about a serious accident, throwing your vehicle into the path of another vehicle, or possibly a rollover accident. Without doubt, there have been numerous occasions when you had to move quickly so you wouldn’t hit something in the road and you can only imagine what would have happened if you were not paying attention.
Being aware of your environment is important in places where there are possible animals on the highway, or places where there are walkers, joggers or bicycle riders. Someone who is a protective driver will often be watchful. It will be a pity if you injured someone with your careless, inattentive driving when they were doing nothing wrong.

The Sound System Of The 2011 MINI Countryman
When flying in an airplane, there is always a passion to sit in a much nicer seat. It could be the aisle or the window, it all depends on you. Then there’s the first class area (with the appropriate cost upgrade).
What I have come to realize is that the 2011 MINI Countryman has the same type of luxurious seating.
Sonic Seating is what I call it.
I have listened to a few really nice car systems in my life. Maybe not the best, but more than a couple and the sheer auditory pleasure I received when driving the 2011 MINI Countryman created a visceral reaction.
From the deep, but not metal grating and rattling bass to the clear and sharp highs I have not figured out how you can create such clear sound inside of a production vehicle.
Trust me, you will wonder if the engineers with MINI didn’t watch Spinal Tap and become excited enough to put down their beers and declare “We shall make an audio system that goes to 11!” and stomp off together at midnight to accomplish this feat.
Maybe this isn’t what happened but this is the way I like to think it went down.
For me there are only 3 type of seats in cars. Premium Sonic, First Class, and Coach. While I got to review the 2011 MINI Countryman S I would definitely say that the seats would be considered Premium Sonic seats.
MINI Connected
While the speakers delivered the premium sound, the MINI Connected (using my iPhone 3GS) was … less than an 11 I have to admit.
I spent two days and about 200 miles running all over Orange County listening to radio, streaming podcasts and music downloaded to my phone and my biggest complaint was that ‘finding’ the music I wanted to listen to was a little annoying.
If you don’t want to hassle with finding your music I would suggest creating some big lists of your favorite music because once you are using the MINI Connected you won’t be able to access things outside of a list.
If I had to choose between the sound system, and making MINI Connected’s menu better, I would keep the incredible sound and be subjected to creating a few lists rather than the reverse.
Well, honestly, the system allows you to play MP3 cd’s and burning Cd’s with similar music is probably the easiest (one for hard rock, one for ambient etc.) solution if you don’t mind having a dozen Cd’s stored in your car.
Considering the great connection with the iPhone I could have used Pandora, Rdio or now Spotify and just streamed the music as an alternative. I happen to have the AT&T No Limit data plan – your ability to select this option might be limited.
